Blog slacking and other news...
Ok ok, we have been the biggest blog slackers in the world. I do have an excuse - we are just getting ready to unveil our brand new blog! I have been waiting for it to be finished before I blogged again... but everything always takes longer than expected so...
A couple pieces of news:
Dennis was recognized by the WPJA as #39 in the top 100 photographers in the world in 2007!!!
We are very pleased! I am so proud of him. I keep telling him how good he is - but he never seems to believe it - it is always "yes Jaime, but I can do better than that". I can't wait to see better!
He has also won a couple more awards with the Q4 Contest of the WPJA. It is kind of a laugh though - we thought it was sort of like Gaylord Fockers' shrine at his parents house... :)
14th Place - Weather

11th Place - Humor

16th Place - Food

5th Place - Ceremony in AGWPJA (this is the Artistic Guild of the WPJA where you are allowed to manipulate images)

But seriously though, it is always an honor to place in competitions at the WPJA - to be recognized with all the other awesome photographers in the organization... and really, 16th place out of thousands and thousands of images entered from all over the world is still pretty good. :)
Look for an all new blog (with more regular posts)... coming soon...

A couple of pictures from Wanaka
We do love going out to Central Otago, New Zealand for weddings. It is such a beautiful time of the year there at the moment, with all the leaves changing. Here are a couple of personal photos while we were out there for a wedding this weekend (and of course some of Alex too!).

Bula!
From Fiji! We just finished photographing 3 days of Sonia and Nilays wedding... Wow! This was our first Indian wedding - it was incredible. We had so much fun! We are still sorting through the photos, but we shot over 100 GB of images... not to mention the rolls of film!
We are now relaxing and taking a family trip to the Island of Ovalau tomorrow. We can't wait for the much needed relaxation.
Here are a couple of photos of Alex in the pool at The Radisson, where we are staying and where the wedding was held.

Here is Alex and the ladies at the Hot Bread Kitchen in Nadi town - our local breakfast joint where we get hot coconut rolls. Mmmm....

The day before the wedding started, we took a drive down the bumpiest road you could ever imagine (and Dennis still managed to get pulled over!) It was a seriously hot day so we decided to get out and take a dip. It was Easter Monday, so all the local Fijian school children were playing at the beach. They loved Alex and completely surrounded him! They were all such lovely children.

Nichola and Aaron
Nicky is originally from Kurow, a small town situated alongside the beautifully braided Waitaki River. Lucky for them, Campbell Park Estate just started hosting weddings and what a dreamy place for a wedding. We rented a small house on the estate grounds and ended up staying an extra night we loved it so much! We loved taking photos of them down the long stretch of road leading up to Campbell Park - the day was so hot, that the road was melting and Nicky took home a few pieces on her dress... Ooops.
